Few of Hollywood’s stars shined brighter than Canadian-born Mary Pickford. Although most millennials may not know this actress, Pickford is still regarded as the “Queen of Hollywood.” Indeed, this legend of the silver screen was so famous she even got a cocktail named after her—and it’s pretty darn good!
Whether you love old movies, pineapple juice, or rum, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy the Mary Pickford cocktail. Oh yeah, and don’t worry about adding a touch of Tribe CBD oil to this drink. If Pickford knew about this non-intoxicating cannabinoid, we bet she’d approve.

While some readers may not know about Mary Pickford, chances are everyone knows her second hubby’s BFF: Charlie Chaplin! Interestingly, the world-famous “Tramp” is often included in stories about the origins of the Mary Pickford cocktail.
As the legend goes, Pickford was traveling in Cuba with Chaplin and her second husband, Douglas Fairbanks. In honor of Pickford’s visit, one bartender at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba decided to create the drink we know today.
While some people claim this tale is a “Hollywood myth,” it’s likely someone in Cuba invented this cocktail. Precisely who created this drink, however, is impossible to say. Two bartenders claim they invented this cocktail, but historians have yet to settle this matter.
Whatever the case may be, it’s clear this tasty cocktail has stood the test of time.

Mary Pickford isn’t the only actress with a cocktail to her name. Indeed, this drink probably isn’t the first that comes to mind when you think of “celebrity cocktails.” If you had to name a cocktail named after an actress, we bet you would say the “Shirley Temple!”
For many people, the Shirley Temple was their first experience of a “mixed drink.” Obviously, this mocktail has no alcohol, so it’s ideal for both kiddos and non-drinkers. However, even if you like a little booze, the Shirley Temple remains a delightful dinner drink.
By the way, Tribe CBD recently posted a CBD-infused Shirley Temple recipe on our blog. In this previous post, you’ll learn everything about making this drink the “authentic” way.
