Although we use a highball glass in this recipe, you could serve a Cuba Libre in a rocks glass. Choosing the right glass depends on how strong you want your drink to be. Since highball glasses are taller, you could fit more cola, which translates to a sweeter flavor profile. If you’d rather taste the spicy notes from your rum, go ahead and use a rocks glass.

Speaking of rum, bartenders typically prefer using light rum in Cuba Libres’. However, don’t let us stop you from trying a darker rum.
