Whether or not you believe the HPI’s stats, you have to admit Malaysia has a pretty awesome national cocktail: the Jungle Bird! First invented in the 1970s, this Tiki cocktail has a little something for everyone’s tastes. If you love sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy all wrapped up into one drink, then you’ve got to give a Jungle Bird a try.

Unquestionably, Campari is the weirdest ingredient in the Jungle Bird—but it’s also what sets this drink apart from other Tiki cocktails. Just a touch of Campari’s ultra-bitter notes adds a remarkable complexity to this fantastic cocktail.
Even if you hate this Italian liqueur on its own, we urge you to give the Jungle Bird a shot. All of the other flavors in this tropical drink help smooth Campari’s bitter edge. It’s not unheard of for this Tiki drink to turn Campari haters into lovers.

CBD Jungle Bird Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz Dark Jamaican Rum
- ¾ oz Campari
- 2 oz Pineapple Juice
- ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ oz Simple Syrup
- ½ dropperful Tribe CBD oil (citrus)
- Pineapple chunks
- Luxardo cherry (optional)
Directions
- Pour rum, Campari, pineapple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker
- Add ice and shake for a few seconds
- Pour into a rocks glass with one large ice cube or a pre-chilled martini glass
- Squirt one-half dropperful of Tribe CBD oil
- Garnish with a pineapple chunk and a cherry
If you want to get extra fancy, consider making a “bird garnish” on this cocktail. No, we don’t mean using a real bird as a garnish—we’re not barbarians! We’re talking about using a pineapple wedge, leaves, a cherry, and a skewer to mimic a bird.
First, cut a triangle-shaped pineapple wedge and spread a few pineapple leaves on top. Next, use your skewer to spear a Luxardo cherry through the leaves and wedge to mimic the head of a bird.
